If you want to quaff slurp down a good brew then you need to sup at the cusp of a tea from the Sri Lankan tea planting Pedro Estate (Nuwara Eliya) that was planted nearly 60 years ago (1954) by the hand of HRH Prince Philip. Well, he didn't plant all the tea bushes but on the 17th April, as part of the Queen's state visit, HRH Prince Philip did plant one special tea bush that flourished.
Cuttings have been taken from this special tea bush over the past 57 years and have been propagated on the estate resulting in an exclusive 'Royal tea' area that the East India Company have exclusive rights to blend. There are only 500 available and this limited edition tea comes in a hand-crafted silver plated caddy with a silver-plated tea spoon.
